Life's a Beach at Gunwharf Quays

The island city of Portsmouth enjoyed a weekend of Beach Volleyball actions as the Dodge Urban Beach Tour came to Gunwharf Quays.

Over the weekend, around 50,000 spectators descended upon the lively retail area of the city to witness the Olympic action as professional players and novices alike took to the beach.

The prize pairing of Aaron Stolberg and Steve Grotowski came on top in the men's Elite event as they beat Jody Gooding and Robin Miedzybrodzki by 2-0.

In the women's event, Beijing bound Denise Johns and her teammate Shauna Mullin were triumphant against Denise Austin and Mel Coutts, winning by 2-0.
