Player Profiles

Allan was born in Bangor and started playing Beach Volleyball three years ago. He has represented Northern Ireland on the Urban Beach Tour last year. Allan was the only player last year in the British Isles to have played and won points in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, England and the Republic of Ireland.

Barry was born in Scotland and started playing indoor volleyball, playing libero for Scotland and GB. He gave this up to concentrate on his Beach career and is currently training with the GB squad in Bath. His greatest achievement is winning the Scottish Tour 2005.

Chloe was born in Craigavon, and has been playing volleyball for a number of years. Chloe has completed the Irish Beach circuit a number of times and the English Beach Grand Prix once. She is also the first female Northern Irish player to compete in the Urban Beach Tour.

Denise was born in Lancashire and has played Beach Volleyball all over the world. She was a FIVB World Tour player from 1999 - 2003. In 2006 she was the top ranked British player. Denise is a Beach Volleyball coach working with National Level players.

Denise was born in Luxembourg, moving to the USA. Here she took up Beach Volleyball and over the last four years has played in the American Professional Tour. She has played in various International matches and aims to be part of the 2008 Olympic squad.

Ellie started playing indoor volleyball at Cardiff University five years ago. During that time Ellie joined Barry Island Volleyball CLub and learnt to play Beach. Ellies has now played in a number of tournaments in the UK from regional to the Volleyball England Beach Tour.

 

Gabi was born in the Czech Republic and plays both indoor and beach volleyball. In Beach Volleyball, she has played on tour in both Germany and the Czech Republic. In the Urban tour 2006, Gabi partnered Denise Austin, winning the Birmingham leg of the tour.

Helen was born on the Isle of Wight and has been playing volleyball for many years. In 2005, she won Sandbanks and then went on to come 5^th in Great Yarmouth and Weymouth 2006.

Jake started playing volleyball at fourteen. He represented England at junior level in indoor, before becoming part of the TASS Beach programme. He now trains with the GB squad in Bath and will play in the European and World U21 Championships with his brother Luke.

Jody is originally from Liverpool and started playing beach volleyball seven years ago, after previously playing indoor. His biggest achievements are being the youngest British Champion and competing in the 5^th Australian Pro Tour. His future goal is to represent his country in the Olympics.

Liane was born in Milton Keynes and has played both indoor and beach volleyball. In indoor, she represented England from 2001 - 2004. In Beach volleyball, Liane finished 3^rd in the 2006 VEBT Finals and played in the World University Games in Korea 2003.

Lucy was born in Essex and has been playing volleyball for a number of years. Lucy has played in a number of International beach events. She was named BOA Athlete of the Year for volleyball and currently trains with the GB squad in Bath.

Luke started playing indoor volleyball where he represented England at junior level. After taking up Beach Volleyball and becoming the U18 British Champion he now trains with the GB squad in Bath and will play in the European and World U21 Championships.

Morph is originally from Glasgow and started playing beach volleyball eleven years ago. He has played in many tournaments such as Weymouth, Sandbanks and Croyde. His future goal is to continue to play beach volleyball and achieve success.

I have lived in Bangor, NI for 5 years and played beach volleyball here and in Europe for 10 years now. The Urban Tour will be the biggest event I have ever played in and I look forward to competing in it.

Robin currently lives in Bath where he is training with the GB Beach Volleyball squad. In 2006, he represented Great Britain in Beach Volleyball at the World University Games in Cyprus. This will be his second year at the Urban Tour after playing last year.
